Biography

Mr Wroe's Ho's consists of Craig and Peter (they play guitar), occasional Ho Nicole (she plays violin), and Andy Mac (it's a computer. It doesn't really have a name, but there you go).

Craig and Pete have a chequered past when it comes to music, but we won't talk about the parties. Seperately, they write their own material which is - quite often - pretty different to what you will hear with the Ho's, but together they combine their differing styles to produce a unique noise. Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's loud, sometimes it's somewhere inbetween.

Nicole on the other hand is one of those really-talented-but-needs-a-push-in-the-right-direction type people. She's won numerous awards with her virtuoso fiddle playing, but the Ho's have restrained her to playing more laid back violin. After all, who wants to be upstaged by some young upstart?

Craig and Pete have been - as the actress said to the bishop - playing with each other since the early 90's, originally with a Campbeltown band called "Too Damn Loud" (they were a bit "woah", and a bit "yeah", playing pretty heavy material) and then in a band called "Mr Wroe's Virgins" (they were much more song orientated and less loud - thankfully). After that, they went their seperate ways. Craig went on to be an original founding member of Glasgow/Campbeltown band Twisted Melons, whilst Pete joined Glasgow band Moon.

In January 2008, the lead singer of Mr Wroe's Virgins died in a car accident. As a tribute, Craig and Pete joined up again to perform at a festival in his memory, choosing the moniker "Mr Wroe's Ho's" to reflect the fact that both members are a bit older and wiser these days. Yeah right!

Finding that the magic was still there, Craig and Peter decided to carry on playing together, writing and recording new songs for the first time in over 15 years.
